BEWARE of serverpronto! I had two servers hosted there and attempted to cancel one which was not being used much. After taking the server down they invoiced me for another quarter. When I attempted to tell them I didn’t want it they informed me I still had to pay because I didn’t follow the proper protocol in cancelling.

To make matters worse they took my other site offline and invoiced me $320 for non-payment. I spoke to several people and noone would help. Even after paying the invoice on the server I wasn’t using they would not put the other server back online. When I asked if they could put it back online for an hour they said NO. Not until I paid the $320 late fee. $320 is like 1000% above what I was paying monthly.

Long story made short they will hold your server hostage until you pay, so beware.

Their abuse team takes forever to do anything. I saw a fraud site up for a whole week before and they didn’t do anything. I eventually reported it to the owner of the site and they took it down.

Serverpronto billed me $320.40 non-payment penalty even though their TOS states $7.95 late fee. Though I can choose to pay the full amount and save time, such business practice makes me so uncomfortable that I decided to take further action if there are enough people to join. If you have similar experience, or other billing related complaints, and would like to file a lawsuit together, please email serverprontocomplaint@gmail.com with the following information:

In the mean time, if you believe that you were or are an victim of predatory business practice, you can file a complaint with Attorney General Of Florida federal government agencies:
    ic3.gov
    ftc.gov
    Other:
BBB (which cannot do much in my opinion except gives a bad rating)

I also missed a single payment because I thought I too had properly canceled my account. My hard drive died in their machine and they reformatted it on me. I lost everything and they still wouldn’t just cancel my account. I had to fax in a ridiculous sheet of paper with a Credit Card number. I was hit with a 300 dollar charge. That is just absurd. Do not use this awful service provider …

Serverpronto is a huge scam. Their servers fail often, customer service is non-existent and actual cost of hosting is very high as they charge for customer service, addl. bandwidth and host of other heads. Worse, they do not accept your cancellation request and keeps on charging your credit card illegally. I am a victim of this scam where they misused my credit card information to charge my card though I canceled their services.

Report them to the Federal Trade Commission at http://www.ftc.gov . They take crooked dealings like this very seriously.

How do you know they take them very seriously? Serious as opposed to what? What things are they not serious about besides this? Do you think Cobra Commander from GI Joe enjoyed his action figure and do you think he had sexual relations with Destro… I think that is the underlying problem here.

    Hi guys.

I review your comments about serverpronto.com service and I want you share with you my point of view and a problem I have/had with them:

Since three months more or less. I purchase a second server (I had there a server already so I decided to purchase a second one) and pay the total amount of this new server for $322.15 USD.
A couple of weeks before that, I experienced setbacks like they used to duplicate invoices (they call these “mistakes”) with the porpoise to charge you twice if you have a credit card… Well, in this time my credit card I provide them was cancel (thanks to god), so any charge was not possible.

After four days more less that I pay them, they automatically cancel my service, their excuse was that I could not have any reason for be “angry” about the technical support and the abusive way they treat clients and try to charge twice, etc excusing this as a “technical mistakes that administration area do”.

After they cancel my service and AFTER I PAID THEM AND CALL THEM DAILY, they stay agree to refund me, has passed already three months since that and nothing is yet in my credit card concerning a refund by their part.

Their excuse goes far… they try to clean her hands by telling that they didn’t charge twice and that there is not any deserve refund and unknowing totally the situation, or at less try to unknowing it.

So if you have experiencing this type of problems, please post any message as possible you can where refer to web hosting and dedicated servers service and let the people know what kind of people are inside this company, so if you are deciding to buy there a server, take in mind because you could be the next guy to be defrauded and if you have already this service, make the necessary think for avoid they try to do the same with you.

    So server pronto service sucks.

When I sent you the cancellation form I write to you that your network is very slow. I don’t want to pay for something like this.

    Solon,

There are things that can be done to change the network you are working on.

These are the terms of cancellation you agreed to prior to ordering, sir.

We cannot change these. The cancellation will be processed accordingly.

    Thank you.

Exactly the same issues with Server Pronto here, even reported my Credit Card as missing, so it would be blocked and they could not charge my Credit Card.
I send them a fax, they did not respond at all and send me a new fresh bill for the next 3 months.

I kept sending mails back that I allready send them a fax. They respond like we’ll investigate it and after a few weeks they send me new bills again.

That was in 2007, now in 2009 I still get billing e-mails from them, but I’m getting a bit irritated now, Never ServerPronto again!

    Excuse me?!
First of all I got a server which had to be rebooted all the time and then when I try to signout because of this, you don’t never give any feedback or whatsoever about my cancelation.

Funny, on this page other people complain about exactly the same issues:

serverpronto sucks. boycott infolink and serverpronto

So you think I’m that stupid to pay you for a cripled server which I canceled and after my cancelation you even send me a new bill for another 3 months?

    Well let me state this:

My hourly rate is $100,- an hour. Allready spent in total 5 hours for canceling your ‘service’. So I’ll have to charge you $500,-.

Now serious… If you still try to charge me and keep sending thread mails like you will contact my Credit Card company etc, etc. I will report your behaviour to Federal Trade Commission.

Just posted this reply, I wonder what ‘none response’ I will get this time.

Beware this company! they setup a server in Panama and when I asked them that I want it in USA as latency in Panama sucks they asked me for $75 relocation fee. I cancelled the service and never used the server. Didn’t have a problem with my credit card until yesterday, I was going to buy something and I put money on my credit card and a few minutes later they took almost all the money!!

When I ask my credit card company they told me Infolink/Serverpronto was the cause, they were trying 5 times every day and finally succeed!!!

Please beware of Serverpronto and Infolink Communication. They conduct very fraudulent business practices and n were recently removed from the BBB in Florida.

If you know any friends that might be interested in this company because of their low/attractive online rates, please warn them to stay away. They will provide you with a defective server and operating system and then charge you an additional $75.00 per half hour for customer service. They intentionally disrupt your service for them to milk you. They also will keep charging your credit card. Be warned!

Apparently, in other to cancel your service with Serverpronto and “due to security” reasons they will require you to mail them the photocopy of the front and back of your credit card and your government ID. Please don’t do this as this is a way for them to gain access to your identity and did could be very detrimental as you will be vulnerable to fraud.

Please be warned. Infolink Communication/Serverpronto is a scam and a fraudulent company.

I have the same issue as many people here. They refuse to accept the cancellation and then continue charging. I have since stopped trying to resolve this amicably and just cancelled my credit card.

Be warned, Serverpronto are the worst business (infotech or otherwise) I have ever been a customer of. Do yourself a favour and spend a little more at another company whose business practices don’t borderline on fraud.

They are absolute scum of the earth.

Don’t use ServerPronto. It’s very difficult to cancel their service. You have to scan your identity photo and your credit card. You also have to fax them to ServerPronto and wait for them to process.
If you don’t have a fax machine, you can try free online fax at https://faxzero.com/

I’m still dealing with them from 2007!

I did their proper procedure of canceling and they’re still trying to get me for another 3 months service and the $300 late fee. They’re claiming they never got my cancellation request and of course I don’t have fax records from 3 years ago.

So I tried for a week to get an address to mail a money order (they’re NOT getting a valid credit card or cheque), finally got one. Sent it registered mail, return receipt requested.

Well I just got it back 3 months later, they refused to sign for it. Reopened my ticket and was told I sent it to the wrong address, that was their “data center” and only accept ups/fedex.

Well thanks to google maps and street view, their “data center” is some run down neighborhood full of crooked looking little chop shops. And the new “office” address is just box at a ups store.

AVOID these guys like the plague!

Ohh and the service was horrible for the 2 weeks I “tried” to use it, hard drive died in my server, randomly froze and I couldn’t reboot it remotely, and I think it was hosted on dialup, it was having trouble serving me the default apache “your server works” page. GARBAGE!

I have an account with them since 2004 and I’m quite pleased. I have the cheap 33$/month system and I never keep money on my credit card. I only deposit those 33$ before I pay them , or I deposit whatever amount I need to pay something. The bank is very close, 3 minutes away, so it’s easy for me to just go there, deposit money on the card, and then pay for something on the internet.

Their system did try to double charge me at one point, but since I had no money on the card there was no harm done. And I’m sure that was just a mistake. Their site is not a scam. And their customer support is very fast at any time of the day and quite helpful. Also plenty of times I was late with payment, even over one week late, and still there was no problem, they didn’t suspend my account or anything.
Also their server rarely goes down and when it does it’s back within minutes.

So I’m satisfied. Other people who wrote on this thread bought expensive servers, so maybe they have higher expectations, but serverpronto offers the best value for the cheap servers. I didn’t find any other provider to offer the cheap reliable servers that they do.

The service is mediocre at best, the cancellation is a nightmare, and even after confirming the cancellation they continue to bill you. Do not, under any circumstance, even consider buying hosting from this company. I don’t have any recommendations on who to buy from instead, just do yourself a favour and make sure it’s not this lot or you’ll regret it.

I signed up for their too good to be true deal of $5 Deal. 4 months later, they tell me that they can no longer continue due to it being ‘promotional’ and they’ll be moving me to $33/month plan. The fine print didn’t mention anything about it being only 4 months long. Now, I have to cancel but it makes me FAX my ID and my Credit card. This is very very scary.

The ServerPronto service was OK for us for several years, but now I’m going through cancellation hell for two systems. I was shocked to see their identity theft kit “cancellation” form and then posts all over the internet about their fraud. I have sent them a cancellation notice by ticket, FAX, and certified mail. Their ticket responses so far have been negative and threatening. They leave phone numbers to call back that don’t work, and their ticket website is currently down. Here was their most recent response:

    Mr. XXXXXXX,

These are the cancellation procedures as stipulated in our Terms of Service which you agreed to prior to ordering the service. Therefore you are bound to these procedures. THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE FORM OF CANCELLATION. Our merchant bank is well aware of this so it is everyone’s best interests to resolve this matter efficiently. If you would like to call and speak with a manager, they are available to you 7 days per week.

This ticket thread will close in 24 hours. If the form is not submitted correctly, the cancellation request will be null and void and the account will remain open.

    Thank you.

I am in the midst of trying to cancel, they just ignore all email. I had to check every time if I didn’t get billed twice which happened many times.

They raised their prices many times without notice, it seems to be mob to me.

They are out of luck though, I live in Canada they can send shit I will and don’t have to pay anything I cancelled my credit card anyway.

DO NO BUSINESS WITH THEM, CHEAP = PROBLEMS

” 1. They have incredibly complicated sign-up and cancellation procedures. You either have to send requests by (ordinary) mail or fax. When you cancel your contract, they request even more information from you than when you sign-up for it.

    2. They are very slow at processing customer requests – they need several days to set-up your server, and two days to confirm your cancellation (contrary to most of other providers where you can have your server up/down in matter of hours).

    3. Watch out for small letters! They force you to request cancellation of your contract 30 days before you want it to be canceled. So, if you are simply not satisfied with their service, you still have to pay them one more month.

    4. Their uptime is awful – our service (which needs to be uptime 99.9%) has strange blackouts in connection to ServerPronto servers.

    5. Their technical support is bad – they couldn’t find out reason for connection blackouts for more than a week.

In summary: very cheap, and very bad solution. Instead of buying cheap solution, consider investing more money in your server, and have good product in your hands. “

    Dear Madame or Sir,

I am the new customer service representative of ServerPronto. I am reaching out to former customers of ours who had negative experiences with our services. Due to shifting circumstances and a change in management and execution we are now arising again out of the ashes of former terms and business practices. The previous management is no longer with the company and the board of directors has taken direct control.
With a new mission and a customer oriented approach, we already made the necessary step of adapting our “Acceptable Use Policy” and improving business procedures.

We want unsatisfied customers to be a source and a motivation for changes and improvement at our company.

The new management would love to hear from you and make amends for past incidents which have lingered far too long. How is it that the management staff here at ServerPronto can make this right with you and hopefully start a fresh, profitable and mutually beneficial relationship for all parties.

    Kind regards,
    Marlon

Still up to their old stuff. supposedly split their panama operations off to a different company (warning, it’s the same company) called fortatrust.com I canceled last month but I guess they “lost” it. They tried to charge me again, guess what, I’m not idiot, all my dealings were with a disposable “pre-paid” card. Charge all you want, I already closed the account losers!

WARING. Don’t use Fortatrust/Serverpronto or be ready to use it for life.

It is impossible to terminate any service.
To terminate the service, you need to call them according to their rules.
After you provide them your info on the phone, they will put you on hold and you will be waiting forever.

It has been 4 months since I started terminating a service, the struggle still going on.

Well thanks Marlon for the heads-up, unfortunately nothing seems to have changed!

Is it legal that they demand all that information (CC-/ID copies and such) for canceling an account? Do the US not have no consumer protection that forbids such shady practices? Seems odd to me since every good that is potentially hazardous needs to be labeled with those huge warning tags – even ski passes. American double standards at work I guess…

    Hello,

I am working as a lawyer in Panama and I can assure you that Fortatrust and Serverpronto are different companies. Serverpronto sold their Panam datacenter to Fortatrust and Fortatrust is illegally using Serverpronto’s name. Serverpronto is in a lawsuit with Fortatrust. The case is still going on.

As with their services, they provide self managed servers and thus their services are limited. They provide managed support but with an extra cost. In their sites, they state that they expect buyers who are well versed with server troubleshooting or buyers with their own adminstration team. My brother have a IT administration team and thus he is very happy with Serverpronto.

Yes, they have a lot of procedures and it comes under fraud prevention and protection acts. This is stated under the cyber law and they abide it properly unlike other service providers.

Late fees, guyzz. That shows irresposibility. If you really care about your business, you will check and pay your invoice at correct times. And all rules regarding their extra charges, late fees are in their terms and conditions and Acceptable usage policy.

I can assure that 90% of the above people have not went through the terms and conditions and AUP completely. So, a lawsuit with them is not going to get you anything except a grand failure.

    Hail to Serverpronto!!
